We might appear to have taken some time off since Summer but we were always busy.
Summer is usually when we run our Youth Development Programme: High Pressure Diamond, which helps young people living in close proximity to violence to build the skills, confidence and resilience required to work their way out of poverty. More on that later.
We also had our very first pop-up selling event in August, working a pitch at Caribbean Food Festival, Music, Jerk & Tings held at South London's Horniman Museum.

It was great to meet some of you in person, introduce new people to the brand and give people a chance to really feel the quality of our clothing. We met some school kids who had learned about the Benin bronzes at school, listening to them excitedly telling us the backstory to our own brand was humbly refreshing.

We did find time to party! Hitting up some of our favourite festivals including 51st Festival which was held at Cophall Playing Fields. Not many photos that we can share (iykyk) but there is a video here.
At the end of summer, we ran High Pressure Diamond, this time in Herne Hill, in conjunction with Lambeth Council. This program was interactive and peer-to-peer with our young learners benefitting from expert-led sessions, peer-to-peer exercises, independent research & a field trip while supplemented with a level 3 media qualification.
We are extremely proud of our Summer '23 cohort, who each walked away with up to £100 in cash for completing the 12-hour (plus independant learning) programme.
Autumn is back though, and we are back in the kitchen.
Help us to fund the next High Pressure Diamond Programme by grabbing something from the store. Look out for new AW23 releases Or browse our legacy ranges at the Diaspora London website.
